Reading helps to reduce stress and anxiety and is a proven form of therapy. This is known as Bibliotherapy.

What is Bibliotherapy? Bibliotherapy is a creative arts therapies modality that involves storytelling or the reading of specific texts with the purpose of healing. It is simply finding therapy through reading.

Books are a form of entertainment, but they're also more beneficial in ways that you may not have ever imagined. Like eating right and exercising to maintain physical health, reading strengthens the muscles in your brain and can help you wind down after a long, stressful day, and it can even improve memory and focus over time.

We are better able to cope with difficult times in our personal and professional lives. The study also proved that in comparison to other relaxation methods such as listening to music, going for a walk, and having a cup of tea, reading was the strongest method in helping the brain and body relax.Reading makes you an empathetic, if you’re an avid reader, you may observe yourself to be an empathizing individual. You may realize that you soon absorb others’ emotions than most other people. The University of Buffalo found that fiction makes way for this increased levels of empathy because of the various stories we read with various characters and their situation. Empathy is an admirable trait in any individual. It is also a demanded interpersonal skill by recruiters.
